A Monodrama for Bass and Piano

Text by Wieland Hoban

The text is divided into a few braided inner voices. This became the main compositional idea of the piece. It is an intense inner conversation or conflict within one person. The background to this conflict can be summed up as following: A man has left his family, his wife and children. He is walking in a forest, hunted by all his conflicting emotions. He sees a lake, and walks into the lake, to die. Chaya Czernowin
