This chart was originally written for Charlie Parker to perform with the Stan Kenton Orchestra. Eventually it was recorded by Lee Konitz. The ensemble writing is very playable with no range concerns in the brass. If you have a great alto saxophone player (the solo is mostly chord symbols), this is an easy tune to put together with your band and will be a spectacular addition to any concert program. 5-5-5-3
