DeRosa, Rich: Mixed Emotions

Rich DeRosa, Professor of Jazz Composition at the University of North Texas, has composed a fascinating, brooding, and pensive melody of “Mixed Emotions.” Set in a very contemporary feel with lush harmonies and reasonable brass ranges (highest note for trumpet is a written B), this flugelhorn feature also includes wonderfully written ensemble passages and will enchant your band and audiences alike. Originally recorded by the UNT One O’Clock Lab Band on their album Lab 2014, this piece requires woodwind doubles (clarinet). 5-4-4-4
