Sarasate y Navascuez, Martín Melitón Pablo de: Zigeunerweisen

The "Zigeunerweisen" (gipsy airs), a famous and popular virtuoso piece from violin literature, required some modification with regard to their performance on the flute. Nevertheless the harmonies, melodies, rhythms and ornaments typical of gipsy music have been kept. As regards the sound, the transposition up by a fifth seemed to be a natural choice.
