Prescott, John: Ancient Apparitions

Travel back to the time of the oldest human civilizations, whose very existence seem to us today as ghosts of a long-dead past. A solo flute and solo trumpet provide musical invitations for listeners to transport themselves to these ancient times while the band answers with antiphonal response. This work continues to gain momentum as ghostly apparitions from ancient times swirl in and out of sight like spinning wisps of mist. The specters - and the music - gain strength and substance as they approach the unyielding vortex of an exciting conclusion.
