(Four Steps to Mastering Sight Reading)

Discover the innovative 4-step system to mastering sight reading in "Better by Sight," a comprehensive classroom method packed with 165 exercise lines with most being fully harmonized sight reading etudes. Organized into eight units that explore common keys, rhythmic relationships, dynamics, and style markings, each section breaks down etudes into manageable steps. This approach reinforces sight reading as an "at-sight" skill, meaning students can directly engage with the material without any pre-reading preparation. Tailored to reinforce learning, the book includes four mastery etudes after each unit and concludes with longer etudes and a full performable work as a final challenge. Composed by music educator and composer Tyler Arcari, these etudes smoothly transition from unison exercises to fully harmonized works. This groundbreaking, full-color book enhances the learning experience by visually reinforcing musical concepts. As Tyler Arcari remarks, "This is the type of classroom set I would have begged for as a teacher."
