Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus: Klavierkonzert Nr. 20 d-moll
Mozarts undoubtedly most famous piano concerto was composed in early 1785 at a time of turbulent activity: We never get to sleep before 1 oclock at night, ... always noise, music, writing, etc. ... it is impossible to describe all the hassles and turmoil: reported Mozarts father Leopold from Vienna. Nevertheless, incomparably beautiful music emerged from these hassles which, of course, trembles with excitement in all the movements. The Urtext edition was produced in cooperation between G. Henle Publishers and Breitkopf & Härtel. As an acknowledged Mozart authority, editor Wolf-Dieter Seiffert has for the first time taken into account not only the autograph but also the posthumous first edition of 1796, since its variants might well trace indirectly back to Mozart. Thus, this new edition invites you to an exciting re-encounter with the concerto of all concertos. The excellent fingerings by maestro András Schiff are a further highlight of this Mozart edition that pianists and Mozart aficionados can simply not pass up!
