Kaz Kumrunrotschna : Corona (Poem from Paul Celan for Choir)
Three reasons that motivated me to write this piece are: the most frequent word of the year, the beauty of the poem and the memory of my professor (Celan is was his favorite poet and he set Celan to music himself).
I felt the interpretation of this poem as a poem of hope not as a poem of lust and joy. The text is in English because I think we rarely set it to music in this language. Vocally the bending ( gliding tones ) is notated microtonally.
