Jarvis, Jeff: Who?

A brass chorale opens this driving jazz waltz for proficient jazz bands. Based on the chord changes to the popular standard I Remember You, it's full of densely-voiced altered dominant and suspended harmonies, coupled with interesting rhythms. Solo space is offered for piano, followed by a section where the drummer trades 4's with the various wind sections. Before the rousing finish the chart modulates briefly, then returns to the home key. At the end of the piece, the opening chorale is reprised in tempo before an exciting series of solo breaks for the drummer. Rhythm section parts are partially notated with chords cued.
