Fenn, Nirmali: A Highwire Act

The piano, the violin and the cello share an essential feature: their sound is generated by vibrating strings, or – to draw from the title of this piece – vibrating ‘wires’. As if stealthily climbing over each other, the instruments in A Highwire Act run the gauntlet of crossing and exploring the extreme regions of their strings.
