In this book the author describes the varied mental, psychological and physical aspects of the adventure of 'practising', while trying at the same time, in a widely diversified manner, to make individual instrumental problems accessible and thus available to the spontaneous artistic need of expression. In a new chapter of the revised and expanded edition, the author deals with the topic of 'linking': muscular or mental linking of two notes, spatial linking on the fingerboard, and linking inside the body.
