Beck, John H.: G-Force

Written for the senior recital of one of his students at the Eastman School Of Music, this rudimental snare drum trio focuses on the interactions between players as they negotiate a series of dramatic tutti and imitative passages leading to a powerful flourish. The title comes from the fact that it was premiered by performers from three generations: student Matt Written, his father and former student Dean Written, and their teacher John Beck.
