Brown, Emma: Rorate caeli

This simple, four-part setting of the introit 'Rorate Caeli' captures both the hope and the intimacy traditionally associated with Advent. With its haunting, cascading phrases, it is a valuable addition to the Advent repertoire. The text is the introit for the fourth Sunday of Advent and can be sung liturgically. This short composition would also make a beautiful contribution to an Advent or a Christmas concert, its warm harmonies leading the listener from the darkness of Advent to the spirit of Christmas.
