Coleman, Ian David: Northumbrian Suite

Folk songs have a long and mysterious history. Their origins are unknown; they have come down to us mainly through an oral tradition passed from generation to generation. Many of the folk songs we have come to know and love are rooted in the ancient region of northern England and southern Scotland known as Northumbria. The three folk songs in this suite reflect this vibrant, wild and deeply historic region.
