What better way to bring people of all ages, racial groups, and ethnicities together than through singing? Music is the universal language and learning to sing in a language other than one’s own native language is the ultimate form of communication and sharing. The composer wrote a song with a simple rhythmic melody and sought out native speakers to see how the song would fit into their particular language. The result was fascinating! Each language brought a unique inflection and rhythm to the song and made it a shared experience among the participants. It is written as a three-part round, which creates harmonies not only from the melodic lines, but also from the variations in the languages.
