Yamamoto, Junnosuke: Symphony No.4

Commemorating the 1250th Anniversary of the Death of Ganjin'

The title of this six-part symphony refers to the symbolism of the Tang dynasty monarch Ganjin's sixth journey to Japan. The composer explains that it is a symphonic poem of „change“ based on the theme of „change“ and expresses structural and emotional change to capture the sound of an ever-changing world. The entire piece lasts approximately 47 minutes and the voices can be borrowed. The premiere took place as part of the „Yamamoto Junnosuke Orchestral Works Solo Exhibition Concert“ (October 29, 2013, Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre) under the direction of Michiyoshi Inoue and with the New Japan Philharmonic.
