Buehler, Blake: Night Eternal

A meditation on the stillness of night, and the inescapable feeling that there's something out of reach. Split into two movements, this flute and guitar duet provides great contrast on any concert program. The first movement, "Mourning," is contemplative and filled with a feeling of calm. The second, "Dust," picks up in tempo and movement as the flute soars above the guitar. "Night Eternal" disrupts the balance between fragility and endurance, sorrow and hope, stillness and motion.
