Morales, Dion: Arcane Empress

Darkly regal and brimming with energy, this E minor string orchestra work surges forward in ¾ meter with driving rhythms and bold string textures. First violins get to explore easy third position, and all sections get melodic lines with instances of divisi, accidentals, dramatic dynamics, and modal twists and turns. Soaring lines and dramatic harmonies evoke power, elegance, and ancient mystery.
