Musicalion checks all contributions to ensure that public use is unobjectionable or has an agreement with a publishing house.
For the duration of your membership you may download and copy the scores available on Musicalion for yourself and your ensemble. You may use the scores for performances. After your membership has ended you are obliged to destroy all downloaded scores together with the copies you made.
Independent from this you have the obligation to register licensed music for performances with your collecting society (ACAP, GEMA...). Musicalion indicates this with the corresponding sheet music.
If you download a large, staged work (e.g. opera, musical), the composer/copyist can claim the exercise of his stage performance rights. In concrete terms, this means that you must contact the sheet music supplier about the performance royalties. If this is desired by the sheet music supplier he will make a corresponding note in his sheet music.
