In 1731 Johann Martin Doemming,
was appointed music director at the court of Hohenlimburg in Westphalia (modern-day Germany). He wrote many compositions for the court, mainly concertante music for winds with string accompaniment, up to seven musicians in all. In 1750 he put together a two-volume thematic catalogue, updated until 1768 with newly added items in the repertoire of the court orchestra during the time of its founder, Moritz Casimir I.
