Born on August 23, 1948, he came into contact with music at a very early age. Both his parents sang in a choir. His father played the flugelhorn and guitar, his mother the mandolin and zither.
As a child, he took piano lessons for several years, later switching to guitar and learning first under Franz Holzfurtner, then Alfred Grolke, and finally Manske-Schneider while studying to become a teacher.
From 1969, he was a guitarist and singer with the ''Waldramer Sängern und Musikanten'', and in the following years he played in various guitar ensembles (duo, trio, quartet). While working as an elementary school teacher, he taught children of various ages to play the recorder and the “Orff instruments,” then gave guitar lessons at the Schliersee Music School and at various music seminars.
In 1976, he began composing his own pieces of music in the style of Bavarian folk music, including pieces for solo guitar, guitar duo, trio, and quartet. In 2003, he published the guitar songbook “Auf geht's” for duo, trio, and quartet.
He added all kinds of dance music pieces such as marches, polkas, Bavarian dances, waltzes, and landlers, as well as some festive music pieces for the ''Schlierachtaler Klarinettenmusi'' and later for the ''Miesbacher Musikanten''.
He initially learned to play the valve trombone with Georg Auracher in Fischbachau, and from 2020 with Stefan Rinshofer in Gmund, and played the instrument first with the Schlierachtaler Klarinettenmusi and later with the Miesbacher Musikanten.
He began his “singing career” as a soprano and tenor under Max Eham, then sang with the Lassus Choir (Bernward Beyerle) in Munich, and now sings with the Palestrina Motet Choir (Sebastian Schober) in Tegernsee.
As an elementary school teacher, he was a strong advocate for music in elementary schools (collaborating on the creation of a new curriculum) and conducted a series of teacher training courses.
He is a busy music copyist for the St. Martin Fischbachau choir and the Palestrina Motet Choir.
