Dmitri Stepanowitch Bortniansky : Tebe poem - Tiébié paiom ((also Tebje pajom / Tebje pojem)
Despite its simple compositional technique, Dmitri Stepanovich Bortniansky’s sacred choral work “Tebe Poem” is structured in such a way that the voices are frequently written in close register, creating a compact, almost static sound space that musically reflects the work’s liturgical function. It is also striking that the clear key and the short duration of the work do not aim for musical simplicity of expression, but rather represent a deliberate reduction that prioritizes the flow of the text and brings the intelligibility of the Church Slavonic words to the forefront.
Set for male chorus with German and French transliteration. The Russian original text is listed separately.
