Marjan Chalangar : Inner Emotion

The Inner Emotion is a duet for harp and flute (A’ part by bass flute, A” part by piccolo and the other part by flute) with a look at the works of prominent composers written in different styles. Among them, we can mention the works of Claude Debussy, Arnold Schoenberg, Toshio Hosokawa, Karen Kayhani, etc.

Form:
This piece consists of six parts, the general form of which can be analyzed in the form of ABA’CA ”D.

Harmony:
In general, it can be said that harmony is non-functional and is composed of a combination of notes in the modes, and in many cases is the product of the interference of two horizontal movements (counterpoint) between the right and left hands. In this work, the harmonic structure includes all the distances of the unison, the Major and minor second & third, the perfect & augmented fourth, and their inverse shapes. At the same time, forms of quartal, tertian & secondal harmonies, forms of major and minor chords, as well as chords in the form of seventh, ninth, eleventh, thirteenth and cluster can be identified in the work.
