Wolfgang Heintz (* c. 1490; † c. 1552) was organist and composer in the service of Archbishop Albrecht of Mainz and Magdeburg in Halle in the first half of the 16th century. Besides two sacred four part church songs ("Christ our Lord came to the Jordan" and "Nu bitten wir den heiligen Geist" (Rhau, 123 German sacred songs from 1544)) and two secular four part songs ("Da trunken sie die liebe lange Nacht" and "Gar hoch auf jenem Berge") (Forster, 2. Part of his collection of songs from 1540), he also composed the melodies for Michael Vehe's Catholic "Gesangbüchlein" from 1537 (Leipzig at Nickel Wolrab) in collaboration with a certain Johann Hoffmann.
