After his initial employment in Gaugrehweiler, he was from 1771 an organist in Kirchheimbolanden at the castle church. The organ had been built with 3 Claviers by Joh. Michael Stumm who was at the time a famous organ maker. After a 6 year hiatus as court organist in Lenningen, he continued his duties in Kirchheimbolanden until the end of his life and in affiliation with the Nassau-Weilburg court.
In addition to several free and chorale-bound organ compositions, he wrote sonatas for obbligato harpsichord with ad lib. accompaniment of violin and cello, but also sonatas for violin, cello and piano.
His compositional style was still partly baroque, but mainly early classical.
