Erasmus Lapicida (actually Erasmus Steinmetz; * around 1450; † November 19, 1547 in Vienna) was a Franco-Flemish composer, singer and cleric of the Renaissance. 60 years of his life, which was unusually long for the time, are completely obscure; only since 1510 is his work as a singer and composer at the court of the Palatinate Elector Ludwig V (reigned 1508-1544) in Heidelberg mentioned. After 1514, he moved to Vienna. It is known that he worked at the Schottenkloster monastery, which suggests that he was a cleric. He remained there until his death.
Only a small part of his oeuvre (sacred and secular music literature, whereby he exhibited a stylistic diversity) has survived.
