Ludwig Stark (* June 19, 1831 in Munich; † March 22, 1884 in Stuttgart) was a German pianist, composer and music teacher. He studied philosophy and music at the University of Munich and during this time wrote inter-act and ballet music for the Munich Court Theater. In 1857, together with Sigmund Lebert, Immanuel Faißt and Wilhelm Speidel, he founded the Stuttgart Conservatory, now the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts. He taught there for 16 years as a singing teacher and choir director. In 1868, he was appointed professor, and in 1873 the University of Tübingen awarded him an honorary doctorate.
Stark wrote several works on music education, including the "Grosse theoretisch-praktische Klavierschule" (1858 ff.) together with Sigmund Lebert and the "Elementar- und Chorgesang-Schule für höhere Lehranstalten" (1880-1882) with Immanuel Faißt.
