Ambrosius Profe, also Latinized as Ambrosius Profius, was a German organist, composer, and music publisher.
Ambrosius Profe studied theology at the University of Wittenberg from 1612. From 1617, he worked as a teacher at the ''Elisabet Gymnasium'' in Breslau (today Wrocław, Poland) In the same year, he took on the role of cantor and teacher in Jauer. In 1629, he returned to Breslau after the recatholization of Silesia. From 1633 to 1649, he worked there as an organist at the ''Elisabethkirche''. In addition to his work as a church musician, he ran a trading business until his death.
As a composer, he wrote the ''Ruhm und Dank-Liedlein'' (Breslau 1634), the 6-part Spiritus sancti gratia (manuscript), and the two movements, Nos. 22 and 25, in the Cunis solemnibus.
