Mark Ehlert was born in Arnsberg, Germany in 1973. He studied church music in Regensburg. During his studies he also directed the "Liederverein Regensburg-Stadtamhof von 1848" and was also organist and choir director at St. Johann in Diesenbach/Opf. He also worked in the "Domkapelle Stuttgart".
From 1998 until 2000 he studied early music at the "Hochschule für Künste Bremen" im Fachbereich "Alte Musik" (organ with Harald Vogel and Hans Ola Ericsson, figured bass with Carsten Lohff). His final recitals were in Stade at the organs of Saints Cosmae & Damiani and St. Wilhadi.
After 2000 he was also responsible at the "ORGANEUM" in Weener for the presentation of the over 200 historic organs in the Weser-Ems-Dollart area and had a similar position at the "Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe - Beurmann Collection" in Hamburg. He also taught organ at the Protestant church in northwestern Germany.
Since 2004 he has been church director and choir director at Mariä Himmelfahrt and St. Walburga in Meschede, and since 2006 deanery church musician for the deanery of central Hochsauerland.
He also performs as continuo player with the "Capella Cantorum Berlin", the "Sächsisches Vokalensemble Dresden", the "Tölzer Knabenchor" and at the Bremer Dom in numerous concerts and recordings.
